In an effort to provide a service to the local, national and international community during these unprecedented times, our division, in partnership with CAMACOL (The Latin Chamber of Commerce of the United States), developed a series of webinars, in both English and Spanish, on diverse topics to offer to the community at no charge.
The first webinar was presented in English by Dr. Teresa Albizu on the topic of “Applying Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in Unprecedented Times”. Dr. Albizu, Founder and Co-President of the R-A Pinnacle Group, a business and educational consulting firm focusing on leadership, organizational and professional development. Formerly, Dr. Albizu served as a higher education leader for over 20 years, held a faculty appointment teaching courses in Marriage and Family Therapy, and maintained a private mental health practice focusing on relationship issues.
She is an alumna of the National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI) and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Executive Education Program. Dr. Albizu has a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Albizu University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Florida State University.
Description of Webinar: The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly demonstrated that we live in a VUCA world: Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous. Businesses large and small continue to face unpredictability, constant and often sudden change, and complex situations for which there are no easy answers. In such a world, success demands leaders who can combine their competence and experience with their humanity, applying their emotional intelligence (EQ) skills to unleash motivation and collaboration in others.
In this webinar, participants will gain an understanding of the components, definition and hallmarks of EQ, as well as strategies to promote the practice of EQ for self, at home, and at work.
