
Travis Cloyd is FIU’s inaugural Futurist-In-Residence. In this role, he will systemically explore predictions and possibilities of emerging technologies on current and future virtual learning environments. Leveraging his industry expertise and professional relationships, Travis will work across the university to ignite strategic partnerships; develop and test immersive and interactive technologies, and expand the University’s teaching, learning, and research opportunities. One of the projects the futurist-in- residence will coordinate is the creation of an Institute for Immersive, Interactive Learning that will form public private partnerships to facilitate the development of the next generation of virtual learning.
Travis is an award winning producer and visionary tech entrepreneur listed in 2021 as a Forbes NEXT 1000 Entrepreneurs. Travis is also the Director of iSTAR (Immersive Studio for Altered Reality) at Florida International University. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America and also the CEO of Worldwide XR based in Los Angeles, CA, producing experiences, films, and branded campaigns based on celebrity digital rights.
